• I am Mick Smith, Blackburn’s only banjo teacher, with around 10 years of experience teaching all ages and abilities.
• I teach private music lessons in my professional studio in Blackburn Town Centre. I’ll teach anyone, young and old, who has a genuine interest.
• My method of teaching is based around creating a friendly, non-intimidating & patient environment for you; the student. I try my best to gauge each and every student’s personal learning style and needs, and I always focus on positive encouragement as well as tips and techniques.
• It’s very easy for beginners to get discouraged by the banjo. So my teaching philosophy is to make it as simple and fun as possible so that the joy of banjo playing comes through early on and sets you up with the passion or enjoyment to take your skill to the next level.
