Michael Smith was born in Blackburn, Lancashire. He began his music education on the electric guitar after hearing the group Led Zeppelin. Later, Michael discovered the classical guitar, bass, banjo and mandolin and began his studies with some of the UK’s most renowned musicians.
After achieving critical acclaim as a musician and to further his passion for music, Michael set up Blackburn Guitar Lessons in his hometown in the early 1990s, where he went on to provide expert tuition to thousands of guitar players of all ages and experiences. Widely regarded as one of the best music tutors in the UK, Michael Smith continues to teach new students to this day.
